“The Pope of Peace in Egypt” is the motto of the trip Pope Francis will undertake April 28 – 29, visiting the city of Cairo, shared Monsignor Emmanuel Ayad Bushay, Bishop of Luxor, Thebes of the Copts, and president of the organizing committee, reported L’Osservatore Romano.
According to what the site of Il Sismografo states, the prelate, who is president of the papal visit’s organizing committee, also revealed how the celebration of Holy Mass by the Pontiff is almost certain, in a stadium of Cairo on April 29. Il Sismografo notes also that the organizing committee is expecting numerous faithful from Jordan and Lebanon, and perhaps other African nations, to attend this Eucharist.
Inviting the Pope were the President of the Egyptian Republic, Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi, the Catholic Bishops, Tawadros II, who is Pope of the Orthodox-Coptic Church, and the Grand Imam of the Al Azhar Mosque.
