The Pope will make an Apostolic Trip to Peru and Chile at the beginning of 2018. The Director of the Vatican Press Office, Greg Burke, made the announcement of this upcoming trip to South America, yesterday, June 17, 2017.
‘Accepting the invitation from the respective Heads of State and Bishops,» the statement noted, «His Holiness Pope Francis will make an Apostolic Trip to Chile from 15 to 18 January 2018, visiting the cities of Santiago, Temuco and Iquique, and Peru from 18 to 21 January, visiting the cities of Lima, Puerto Maldonado and Trujillo.»
«The program for the trip will be published shortly.»
In September, the Pope is making an Apostolic Visit to the South American nation of Colombia, Sept. 6-11.
