“I give a warm welcome to the Arabic-speaking pilgrims, particularly those from the Middle East!”, said Pope Francis during his General Audience of June 28, 2017.
This morning’s General Audience was held at 9:30 in St. Peter’s Square, where the Holy Father Francis met with groups of pilgrims and faithful from Italy and from all over the world.
The Pope spoke in Italian, translated immediately into Arabic by one of his collaborators in the Roman Curia: “Dear brothers and sisters, martyrs are those men and women who, in daily life, faithful to the gentle force of love and in the voice of the Holy Spirit, seek to help the brethren and to love God without reservation.”
“Martyrs teach us that with the strength of love, with gentleness, we can fight against bullying, violence, war, and we can create peace, with patience.”
“May the Lord bless you all!” he said.
