“I give a warm welcome to the Arabic-speaking pilgrims, particularly those from Iraq, Jordan, and the Holy Land!”, said Pope Francis during his General Audience of October 25, 2017.
This morning’s General Audience was held at 9:30 in St. Peter’s Square where the Holy Father Francis met with groups of pilgrims and faithful from Italy and from all over the world.
The Pope spoke in Italian, translated immediately into Arabic by one of his collaborators in the Roman Curia: “Heaven is the goal and purpose of our existence.
“It is the gift God offers us, not for our merits, but for the immensity of His mercy and His infinite love,” Francis said, noting: “It is the embrace of the Father, Who waits to grant us His mercy and restores the dignity we have lost because of our sins and our departure from Him.”
Pope Francis concluded, praying: “May the Lord bless you all and protect you from evil!”
