About 40 thousand young people met on October 6, 2018,  at the National Stadium in Warsaw. The 12-hour program included prayer, conferences, testimonies, as well as concerts and artistic shows. In conjunction with Pope Francis and the universal Church, young Poles prayed for the Synod on the Youth.
“We want to connect spiritually with the synod and pray for it. Youth at the Stadium is the largest meeting of young people being held during this synod, in Europe and perhaps the world. It was dedicated to those who have lost God somewhere on the paths of their lives, as well as those who know him but need to be strengthened and want to move ahead,” said Fr. Rafał Jarosiewicz, the event’s organizer.
The homily at the Eucharist celebration, was presided over by Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, was pronounced by the Bishop of Koszalin-Kołobrzeg, Msgr. Edward Dajczak. At the end of the Mass, Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, Metropolitan Archbishop of Warsaw, thanked the young people for the bond with the synod and Pope Francis. “This is a synod about you and for you! You are the hope of the Church. You are the hope of the world,” said Cardinal Nycz.
Moreover, during the Synod, nightly vigils are being held on Jasna Góra. Each night, a designated group of young people—including high school graduates, evangelistic communities and youth organizations—will keep watch and pray for the meeting’s intentions. Earlier, over 122 000 young people from Poland prayed for the Synod Assembly during a “prayer relay” and other youth events.
