Pope Francis on November 24, 2018, appointed as apostolic nuncio in Pakistan the Rev. Msgr. Christophe Zakhia El-Kassis, nunciature counselor, elevating him at the same time to titular see of Roselle, with the dignity of archbishop.
Archbishop Christophe Zakhia El-Kassis
Archbishop Christophe Zakhia El-Kassis was born in Beirut, Lebanon on August 24, 1968. He was ordained a priest on 21 May 1994 and incardinated in the archieparchy of Beirut of the Maronites.
He graduated in Utroque Iure.
He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 19 June 2000 and has served in the apostolic nunciatures in Indonesia, Sudan and Turkey, and in the Section for Relations with States.
He knows the following languages: Arabic, French, Italian, English, Indonesian, Spanish, and German.
