“Young people are the solution to many of the world’s crisis,” according to Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family, and Life. “Pope Francis will bring courage to the youth people.”
The Cardinal’s reflections come in a 17-minute video interview published by the dicastery on January 14, 2019. In the interview, he points to World Youth Day as “one of the most important events for young people in the history of the Church of the last 40 years. “I know that the Pope will put in them a great desire to participate in the life of the world and change it.”
Referencing the prophet Joel, Cardinal Farrell said that old men dream dreams but young men see visions — and some will say “why not.”  The young, like Mary, he suggested, “are the solution, they have the answers, the visions on how to make the world better.
“Young people around the world are the backbone and engine that moves society,” the Cardinal continued. “Young people want to improve the world.”
