“We are a leaven of love in the world,” said Pope Francis to the Arabic-speaking pilgrims, whom he greeted during the general audience on Wednesday morning, February 13, 2019, in the Paul VI Hall of the Vatican.
The Pope turned in particular to Christians from Syria, Lebanon, and the Middle East. “God is the father of all and has made us brothers in one humanity,” he told them.
“Today many brothers suffer in the world, they need us to work for them and to remember them in our prayers,” he added, referring to the catechesis that he had just to pronounce on the Christian prayer: a conversation with God that does not provide tranquility but on the contrary takes care of the suffering of others.
“We are a leaven of love in the world because in the last day we will only take with us the love we have offered in our life,” the pope said, before saying: “May the Lord bless and protect you from the evil one! “
