Today, 12 November 2019, the Holy Father received his Excellency Mr. João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola. Msgr. Mirosław Stanisław Wachowski, under-secretary for Relations with States, later met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Manuel Domingos Augustus.
During the cordial discussions, in good relations between the Holy See and Angola and the valued contribution of the Catholic Church in numerous sectors of society were highlighted, special attention was paid to some aspects of the Bilateral Agreement signed in the Vatican last 13 September. Discussion in the country, with particular attention to the efforts made to promote the development and maintenance of social peace.
