Appointment of bishop of Caserta, Italy

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Pietro Lagnese as bishop of Caserta, Italy, transferring him from the diocese of Ischia.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Pietro Lagnese was born on 9 September 1961 in Vitulazio, in the archdiocese of Capua and in the province of Caserta.

He carried out his studies at the Cardinal Alessio Ascalesi Archiepiscopal Seminary of Naples and the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy, Saint Thomas Aquinas Section, where he was awarded a licentiate in sacred theology.

He was ordained a priest on 1 May 1986.

He has held the following offices: parish priest of Santa Maria dell’Agnena in Vitulazio (1987-2013); secretary of the diocesan Synod (1988-1993); spiritual father at the Cardinal Alessio Ascalesi Archiepiscopal Seminary of Naples; member of the college of consultors; regional head of family pastoral care.

He was elected to the see of Ischia on 23 February 2013, and received episcopal consecration the following 1 May.

Within the Episcopal Conference of Campania he is delegate for the justice and peace sector.

 

Appointment of bishop of Epinal, Colombia

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Miguel Fernando González Mariño, titular of Boseta and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Ibagué, Colombia, as bishop of Espinal, Colombia.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Miguel Fernando González Mariño was born in Tunja on 25 January 1966. Before entering the Seminary he obtained a degree in architecture from the Universidad de Los Andres in Bogotá. He was also awarded a licentiate in dogmatic theology in Rome.

He received priestly ordination on 1 August 1998, and was incardinated in the diocese of Santa Marta.

He subsequently held the following roles: chaplain in the parish of Santa Maria Regina della Pace in Rome, parish administrator of San José in Pueblo Viejo, chaplain of the San Cristóbal Regional Hospital in Ciénaga, professor of theology, formator and academic secretary of the Seminario Mayor San José, chaplain of the Colegio de La Presentación in Santa Marta, parish priest of San Juan Bautista in El Retén, chaplain of the Collegio La Sagrada Familia in Fundación, spiritual director of the Seminario Mayor San José, diocesan delegate for the liturgy and, since 2009, rector of the Seminario Mayor San José.

On 11 February 2016 he was appointed as titular bishop of Boseta and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Ibagué, Colombia. He received episcopal consecration the following 12 March. He served as apostolic administrator of the archdiocese of Ibagué from 19 March 2019 to 18 July 2020.

 

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of San Isidro, Argentina

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of San Isidro, Argentina, the Reverend Raúl Pizarro, of the clergy of the same diocese, until now parish priest of Santa Rita, assigning him the titular see of Ausana.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Raúl Pizarro was born on 12 March 1973 in San Isidro, in the same diocese.

He was ordained a priest for the diocese of San Isidro on 23 October 1998.

He has held the following offices: parish priest of Nuestra Señora del Carmen (1998-1999); parish vicar of Santa Rita (1999-2001); parish vicar of San Pablo and of Nuestra Señora de Itatí (2001-2004); Vicario Parrocchiale di Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro (2004-2008); chancellor, rector and formator of the seminary (2009-2015) and vicar general. He is currently parish priest of Santa Rita.
