(ZENIT News / Rome, 06.06.2023).- Around 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 6, Pope Francis was taken to the Gemelli Polyclinic for “a routine review.”

This is the third time the Pontiff has gone to the renown Catholic Hospital. The first from July 4-14, 2021, for intestinal surgery; the second from March 29 to April 1, 2023, suffering from a respiratory infection (pneumonia).

Today’s visit to the Hospital set off alarms in the press covering the Vatican, for the same reason (a routine visit), adduced last March when the Holy Father was admitted to the Polyclinic. Questioned by journalists, the spokesman of the Vatican Press Office stated that “This morning Pope Francis went to the Gemelli Polyclinic to undergo some clinical tests and returned to the Vatican before midday.”
