His weekend re-election in Germany came on the eve of the blessing of the Matri Ecclesiae Shrine, built by the International Schoenstatt Movement. The shrine opens its doors this Wednesday in Belmonte, near Rome.
Hundreds of pilgrims from around the world have already arrived for the event.
After the blessing ceremony, some of the pilgrims will go to Schoenstatt, in Germany, where they will pray before the tomb of the movement‘s founder, Father Joseph Kentenich.
The Schoenstatt Movement has 160 centers, in more than 80 countries.
