Rome to Celebrate "Evangelization Night"

ROME, MARCH 20, 2005 (Zenit.org).- Rome is set to celebrate «Evangelization Night,» an event honoring individuals and institutions who have stood out in their commitment to the work of spreading the Gospel.

Organized by the Papaboys Onlus Foundation of Rome, Golden Chalice, Rising Star and Special Prize awards will be given at a ceremony Monday.

Among the 12 Golden Chalice recipients will be the Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, Mel Gibson’s film «The Passion of The Christ» and ZENIT news agency.

Rising Star winners include emerging movements and congregations, as well as composer Leonardo Civitavecchia and the Jobel 2000 music group.

Joaquín Navarro Valls, Vatican spokesman, is one of the winners of the Special Prize.

Daniele Venturi, president of Papaboys, told ZENIT that the goal of the event is to promote participation in World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany, Aug. 15-21.

The goal is that 5 million young people will attend the youth gathering.
