Appointment of bishop of San Martín, Argentina

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Martín Fassi, until now titular of Dionysiana and auxiliary of San Isidro, as bishop of San Martín, Argentina.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Martín Fassi was born in San Isidro on November 14, 1960, and was ordained a priest for the same diocese on December 14, 1984.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of the Purísima Concepción of General Pacheco; formator and professor in the Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación Interdiocesan seminary in Resistencia; missionary in the diocese of Holguín, Cuba, vicar general of the diocese of San Isidro and spiritual director of the diocesan seminary. In addition, he has served as head of permanent formation for the clergy of the diocese.

On November 17, 2014, he was appointed as titular bishop of Dionysiana and auxiliary of the diocese of San Isidro, and received episcopal ordination the following December 11.

Within the Argentine Episcopal Conference, he is a member of the Commission for Ministers.

 

Appointment of members of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints

The Holy Father has appointed the following as members of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints: Bishop Filippo Iannone, president of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts; Archbishop Felice Accrocca of Benevento; Archbishop Luigi Vari of Gaeta; and Bishop Paolo Selvadagi, auxiliary bishop of Rome.
