World Festival of Christian Art Opens Thursday

MADRID, Spain, JULY 11, 2001 (Zenit.org).- The Seminary of Tortosa will host the 16th Multifestival David, an event that brings together Catholic musicians and artists from around the world.

More than 2,000 people from 30 countries will participate in the Multifestival, which runs Thursday until Sunday.

Among the musicians and singers on hand will be Luis Alfredo Britos, organizer of the Multifestival; Spring Dance, of the United Kingdom; Lynn Geyer, of the United States; and Sister Glenda, of Chile.

Sculptors, painters, graphic designers, art directors, restorers, publicists and photographers also will exhibit their work.

Each day there will be common prayer, eucharistic adoration, an «international rosary» prayed in several languages, and after-hours Masses at midnight.

Also scheduled are formation workshops on topics such as homeopathy, faith experiences in Eastern countries, the Holy Shroud, love and sexuality, anorexia, marginalization and immigration, drugs, journalism and vocations.
