Cardinal Norberto Rivera made this passing reference to this week’s WTO meeting in Cancun.

«I think that while we have that burden of debt, it will be difficult for us to begin to develop, to transform our countries,» the archbishop told journalists on Sunday.

«I think that handouts are not needed, charity from rich countries,» he said. «Instead, they must act with justice, valuing the work of the poorer countries.»
