Indonesia Nuncio Appointed to Post in Nigeria

VATICAN CITY, JAN. 28, 2004 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II appointed Archbishop Renzo Fratini, apostolic nuncio in Indonesia and East Timor, as nuncio in Nigeria.

Born on April 25, 1944, in Urbisaglia, Italy, Renzo Fratini was ordained a priest in 1969.

In 1993 he was named apostolic pro-nuncio to Pakistan. In 1998 he was named nuncio to Indonesia, and in 2003, following the country’s independence, nuncio to East Timor.
