Holy Father Appoints Auxiliary of Archdiocese of Przemyśl of Latins, Poland

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Krzysztof Chudzio, of the clergy of the archdiocese of Przemyśl of the Latins, Poland, as auxiliary of the archdiocese of Przemyśl of the Latins, Poland, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, currently parish priest of Jasienica Rosielna, assigning him the titular see of Marazane.

Bishop-elect Krzysztof Chudzio

The Bishop-elect Krzysztof Chudzio was born on June 25, 1963, in Przemyśl. After his high school examinations, he was received in the major seminary of Przemyśl of the Latins and was ordained a priest on 14 June 1988 for the same diocese.

After priestly ordination, he served as parish vicar in the parish of Saint Adalbert in Krosno (1988-1989) and was later sent to the diocese of Kamyanets Podilskiy of the Latins in Ukraine where he held various offices: secretary to the diocesan bishop Jan Olszański, chancellor of the episcopal Curia and organizer of the work of the Curia (1989-2005).

Returning to his native diocese, he served as director of the archdiocesan museum (2005-2006) and later spiritual father of the major seminary and lecturer in the theological institute in Przemyśl (2006-2015).

He is currently pastor of the parish of Jasienica Rosielna and honorary canon of the Cathedral Chapter of Przemyśl.

He is fluent in Russian, Ukrainian and knows basic English.
