Pontifical Academy Addressing Challenge of Globalization

VATICAN CITY, MAY 2, 2003 (Zenit.org).- Members of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences are focusing on “The Governance of Globalization” at their plenary assembly here.

The topic is being studied from the point of view of political science, law, sociology and economics.

A summary will be made on the various perspectives next Tuesday, the last day of the meeting.

Archbishop Renato Martino, president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, spoke this morning on the contribution the Church can make: to give globalization a “human face,” particularly through promoting the “globalization of solidarity.”
