At 5:00 pm on November 27, the Pontifical Swiss Guard will schedule a press conference to present the new comic strip ”The Pope’s Guardians — the Pontifical Swiss Guard,” stated a press release of the Guard. This comic strip — geared to French-speaking readers, came out on November 20, 2019, in an Artege Publishing House.

The press conference will take place in the Pontifical Swiss Guard’s headquarters in the presence of the book’s authors: Yvon Bertorello, Laurent Bidot, and Arnaud Delalande.

Throughout 56 comic strips, readers follow the adventures of Marc, a Swiss youth, whose desire to join the Guard’s Corps drives him to leave his small village to go to the Vatican and begin his service with the Pontifical Swiss Guard.

An official tour will take place in French-speaking Switzerland during the month of December. The authors will be presented for the signing sessions at La Bulle library in Fribourg from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on December 5; on December 6 at St. Augustine’s library or at the St. Maurice Abbey (to be determined) from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm; and from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Sion’s Liseuse library; and on December 7 at 3:00 pm at Geneva’s Payot library.

On Sunday, December 8, at 10:00 am, a Mass of the Immaculate Conception will take place in Geneva’s Notre Dame Basilica. After the Mass, there will be an Information stand on the Pontifical Swiss Guard and a stand, with the book’s authors, will be set up in the Square in front of the Basilica.
