Pope at Angelus Recognizes Group from 'Rare Disease Day'

Pope Francis on February 24, 2019, welcomed the group participating in the noonday Angelus in St. Peter’s Square representing “Rare Disease Day.”
“I greet the group that has come on the occasion of the ‘Rare Disease Day’ and I hope that the patients and their families are appropriately supported in their difficult course, be it at the medical as well as the legislative level,” the Holy Father said.
February 28, 2019, will be the twelfth international Rare Disease Day coordinated by EURORDIS. On and around this day hundreds of patient organizations from countries and regions all over the world will hold awareness-raising activities.
