Families flocked to the Holy See’s pavilion at Expo Milan 2015 on August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption, celebrated Saturday.

According to Vatican Radio, this weekend -- which is an important holiday weekend for Europeans -- there was a great turnout at the exhibit entitled "Not by Bread Alone. At the Lord's Table with all Mankind."

During the first half of August, the source also stated, more than 100,000 had visited, and since it opened on May 1, more than 600,000.

There is said to be great interest in the tapestry by Pieter Paul Rubens, depicting the Institution of the Eucharist, from the Diocesan Museum in Ancona, which at the end of July replaced the original canvas of the Ultima Cena ('Last Supper') by Tintoretto from the Church of San Trovaso in Venice.

According to guides and volunteers at the exhibit, visitors have expressed they enjoy the pavilion's interactive aspects, including a special effect movie inspired by the theme of Creation. To date, the pavilion also has sold more than 2,000 copies of Pope Francis’ encyclical on the environment Laudato Si'.
