The Holy Father´s words, expressed from the window of his study to pilgrims in St. Peter´s Square, came on Pro-Life Day, which the Church observed in several countries.

Recalling the motto chosen by the Italian bishops for this celebration, “Each Child Is a Word,” the Holy Father said he was pleased to associate himself with this subject, “to remember that every child is a word pronounced to the parents who are called to welcome it.”

“It is also a word directed to society, to whom he offers his own contribution and from which he hopes for help in his own development,” the Pope added.

He also expressed his encouragement to the “consultants, associations, movements” that dedicate themselves to the defense of life, the unborn, children, the sick and the elderly.
