"Morning-After" Pill to Be Sold in Spain

MADRID, Spain, MAR. 26, 2001 (Zenit.org).- The «morning-after» pill will be on sale in Spain in May, following its authorization by the Health Ministry, the press reported today.

The pill will require a medical prescription and cost just over $10. On several occasions, the Spanish bishops published documents reminding women that the pill constitutes a «chemical abortion.»

The measure was approved by the center-right, majority Popular Party, a political family that includes Christian Democratic leaders.
