For the third consecutive year, the Holy Father has accepted the invitation of the Diocese of Aosta to spend his holidays in Les Combes, Introd, in the Alps.
«We mustn´t get used to it. The fact that the Pope visits a place is a grace,» Bishop Giuseppe Anfossi of Aosta told the Italian newspaper Avvenire. «I think we must always have the enthusiasm of the first time, despite the reserve that characterizes the residents of the place, which the Pope appreciates.»
Last year, the Holy Father stayed in an elevator-equipped chalet, constructed by the Salesians of Les Combes.
John Paul II will take advantage of his summer holiday to prepare some documents and addresses. He plans to publicly recite the midday «Angelus» on Sunday, July 15.
