TORONTO, JULY 24, 2001 (Zenit.org).- World Youth Day 2002 organizers will hold a celebration this Saturday to start the one-year countdown to the international youth conference and papal visit to Canada, scheduled from July 18-28, 2002.
The event Saturday night will be held at Nathan Phillips Square and feature music, dance, theater, Scripture reading and prayer. It will end with a candlelight vigil. Cardinal Aloysius Ambrozic, archbishop of Toronto, is expected to be on hand.
