Second Asian Youth Day Set for Taiwan

ROME, AUG. 3, 2001 (Zenit.org).- Catholic youth from more than 25 Asian countries will attend the Second Asian Youth Day in Taiwan from Aug. 12-17, to reflect on the mission of young Catholics.

Families and volunteers are preparing to welcome the more than 340 youths expected for the event, whose motto is «Called to Sanctity and Solidarity.»

The event, organized by the Federation of Asian Bishops´ Conferences, will take place in the Catholic University of Fu Jen, near Taipei.

The first Asian Youth Day was held in 1999 in Hua Hin, Thailand.
