Caritas to Maintain Aid for North Korea

ROME, NOV. 23, 2001 (Zenit.org).- Caritas International will continue to send aid to famine-scourged North Korea, and will do so through Caritas-South Korea.

This is the result of a meeting held last week in Beijing, between representatives of the Catholic aid organization and of the Communist regime, according to the Vatican agency Fides.

For the first time in 50 years, Pyongyang agreed to meet with humanitarian organizations in Seoul.
