The exhibition will include more than 140 universal art treasures, such as a 17th-century Bernini silver-and-bronze reliquary, exhibited for the first time outside of Italy, the Vatican Library´s Giovanni Morello said during a press conference this week.
The exhibition, which will open June 8 and close Aug. 11, will also display 12th- and 13th-century religious manuscripts of the Bible.
The World Youth Day, set for July 22-28, is expected to attract 750,000 people.
The young pilgrims will benefit from a $6 reduction in the museum´s entrance fee. Ordinarily, the fee is $9.50, the museum´s vice president, Joel Peters, said.
