Auxiliary Appointed for St. Louis Archdiocese

ST. LOUIS, Missouri, OCT. 17, 2002 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II appointed Father Robert Hermann, vicar general of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, as an auxiliary bishop there, the Vatican Press Office announced today.

The bishop-elect was born in 1934 in St. Louis and was ordained a priest in 1963.

He has been the archbishop’s representative before the Charismatic Movement since 1981, parish priest at the Incarnate Word Church in Chesterfield (1988-2002) and dean of the Northwest Territory (1996-2002).
