“May the specter of war that leads to death give way to the joyful praise of the Lord of life,” the Pope said today at the general audience, at the conclusion of his meditation on Psalm 150.

Addressing 700 Poles who attended the audience, the Holy Father added: “Yes, human life is a wonderful reason to praise God.”

Once again the Pontiff repeated his appeal, this time to the 10,000 pilgrims gathered in Paul VI Hall, as well as to families, communities and parishes to be committed to “the great work of prayer” during this Year of the Rosary.

“May this prayer bring everyone many graces,” he said. “Above all, may it bring the gift of peace to the world.”

Last Sunday the Pope called all believers to a World Day of Prayer and Fasting for Peace, to be observed on Ash Wednesday next week.
