Never Too Late for Peace, Says Pope

VATICAN CITY, MARCH 5, 2003 (Zenit.org).- When greeting a group of Polish pilgrims, John Paul II assured them that it is never too late for world peace.

“I think that when it is a question of peace, it is never too late to dialogue,” the Pope said in his mother tongue at the end of today’s general audience. He had designated this Ash Wednesday a special day of prayer and fasting for peace.

“That is why I ask all of you for this prayer and fasting,” the Holy Father said. “May these be concrete gestures of the involvement on the part of those who believe in the mission to remind the world that it is never too late for peace.”
