New Apostolic Nuncio in Honduras

VATICAN CITY, JULY 18, 2003 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II named Monsignor Antonio Arcari as apostolic nuncio in Honduras and gave him the dignity of archbishop.

Archbishop-designate Arcari, 50, has been consultant of the nunciature. A native of Pralboino, Italy, he was ordained a priest in 1977. He entered the diplomatic service of the Vatican in 1982.

He has worked successively in the papal representations in the Central African Republic, the United States, Bolivia, Ireland, Croatia, Albania and Peru.
