We love our pets very dearly because they protect us even at the risk of their own lives. We cannot help but feel profound affection for these creatures whose waking hours are spent waiting on us, their human masters. But, our love for our pets (which compels us to spend and care for them more than the average person) will never lead us to trivialize God’s purpose and love for humanity.
We will always remain firm in our belief and faith that our knowledge of and relationship with our creator (which our pets do not possess) are far more valuable, because these gifts are what will enable us to seek and fulfill God’s purpose for creating us in the first place.
