Hong Kong Catholics Support Quake Victims

In response to the April 14 quake, parishes in Hong Kong prayed for the victims during Sunday Masses.

Bishop John Tong of Hong Kong instructed parishes to arrange a special donation either at last Sunday’s Mass or next Sunday’s. He encouraged the faithful to be generous in their donations, and he joined with the people in praying for the victims and rescuers.

The special collection postponed another collection already scheduled for April 25 to benefit the diocesan seminary.

The Chinese government declared that Wednesday will be a national day of mourning.
