Bishop Appointed for Navrongo-Bolgatanga

BOLGATANGA, Ghana, APRIL 5, 2011 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI named Father Alfred Agyenta, 52, as bishop of Navrongo-Bolgatanga.

The Vatican announced today that the priest, who was ordained in that same diocese in 1988, was chosen to succeed Bishop Lucas Abadamloora, who died Dec. 23, 2009.

The Navrongo-Bolgatanga Diocese has 104,165 Catholics, served by 56 priests and 68 religious.
