The youth, from 18 dioceses, join those who were similarly trained for the Pope’s visit to the United Kingdom last September, and for World Youth Day in Australia in 2008.

The training days were held in Liverpool and London, and began with Masses celebrated by Archbishop Patrick Kelly of Liverpool, and Father Christopher Jamison, director of the National Office for Vocation.

The youth were presented with modules on themes including how to interview/be interviewed, what makes news, embracing the digital continent, and mobile pics – photo sharing.

Some 3,200 of the 2 million expected at World Youth Day will come from the United Kingdom.
