The Apostleship of Prayer announced the intentions chosen by the Pope for the upcoming month. His general intention is: «That World Youth Day in Madrid may encourage young people throughout the world to have their lives rooted and built up in Christ.»

His apostolic intention, meanwhile, calls to mind one of the priorities of his pontificate: the new evangelization.

The Pontiff’s apostolic intention for August is: «That Western Christians may be open to the action of the Holy Spirit and rediscover the freshness and enthusiasm of their faith.»
