In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis has been releasing video messages to illustrate his monthly prayer intentions, announced by the Apostleship of Prayer.
Today, the October video was released and is available here. It focuses on his prayer for journalists.
The Holy Father’s universal prayer intention for October is: “That journalists, in carrying out their work, may always be motivated by respect for truth and a strong sense of ethics”.
His intention for evangelisation is: “That World Mission Day may renew within all Christian communities the joy of the Gospel and the responsibility to announce it”.
Videos for January-September can be viewed here: http://apostleshipofprayer.org/the-pope-video

The text of the video message reads:
“I often wonder: How can media be put to the service of a culture of encounter?
“We need information leading to commitment for the good of humanity and the planet.
“Join me in this prayer request.
“That journalists, in carrying out their work, may always be motivated by respect for truth and a strong sense of ethics.
“Can you help me spread this prayer request?”
Then journalists in various languages respond, “Yes.”
