Appointment of auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Kaunas, Lithuania
The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Kaunas, Lithuania, the Rev. Msgr. Algirdas Jurevičius, of the clergy of the diocese of Kaišiadorys, currently vicar general of the same ecclesiastical circumscription, assigning him the titular see of Materiana.
Rev. Msgr. Algirdas Jurevičius
The Rev. Mons. Algirdas Jurevičius was born on 24 March 1972 in Vievis, in the diocese of Kaišiadorys. After completing his primary studies in his home town, in 1991 he entered the interdiocesan seminary of Kaunas. He was ordained a priest on 26 December 1996 in Kaišiadorys, where he was incardinated.
Between 1996 and 1998 he continued his education with a master’s degree in dogmatic theology at the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the Vytautas Magnus University of Kaunas. From 2000 to 2004 he studied at the “Philosophisch-Teologische Hochschule Sankt Georgen” in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and obtained a doctorate in pastoral theology.
During his study years he has also carried out pastoral duties as parish vicar and educator in the seminary of Kaunas. From 1998 to 2000 he was administrator of the parishes of Aukštadvaris and Vytautavas. In 1998 he was also notary for the cause of beatification of Archbishop Teofilius Matulionis. Since 2004 he has served as diocesan bursar, member of the presbyteral council, member of the college of consultors, vicar general of Kaišiadorys and, finally, professor in the major seminary of Vilnius.

The Holy Father has appointed to the College of Pronotaries Apostolic de Numero Participantium the Rev. Msgr. William V. Millea, of the clergy of the diocese of Bridgeport.
