«Enjoy your lunch and goodbye!»

Those are the usual words Pope Francis speaks to end his comments after praying the noonday Angelus each Sunday with the faithful in St. Peter’s Square. On November 17, 2019, he modeled his own advice for lunch and joined 1,500 poor people and 50 volunteers for lunch in Paul VI Hall.

It is something the Holy Father has done each of the past three years since establishing the World Day of the Poor.

This year’s menu: lasagna, chicken with mushrooms and potatoes, dessert, fruit, and espresso coffee, along with festive decorations. The Pope thanked all those present and asked God to bless them and their families.

The Vatican did not report whether the Holy Father had seconds.
