Resignation of the Bishop of Kalisz (Poland) and appointment of the “vacant see” Apostolic Administrator

The Holy Father accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the Diocese of Kalisz (Poland) presented by His Excellency Mons. Edward Janiak and at the same time appointed His Excellency Mons. Grzegorz Ryś, Metropolitan Archbishop, Apostolic Administrator “see vacant” of Łódź.

Appointment of Auxiliary Bishops of Monterrey (Mexico)

The Holy Father has appointed as Auxiliary Bishops of Monterrey (Mexico) the Reverend César Garza Miranda, OFM , Parish Priest, Dean and Member of the Presbyteral Council representing Consecrated Life, assigning them the titular see of Magneto; Juan Carlos Arcq Guzmán , of the clergy of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Monterrey, Rector of the Archdiocesan Seminary of Monterrey, assigning him the titular see of Milevi; and José Manuel Garza Madero , of the clergy of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Monterrey, Rector of the Cathedral and Episcopal Vicar, assigning him the titular see of Tiburnia.

Curriculum vitae of HE Msgr. César Garza Miranda, OFM
HE Msgr. César Garza Miranda, OFM, was born in San Nicolás de los Garza, October 18, 1971. Graduated as an accountant, he studied Philosophy and Theology in the Franciscan Faculties in Guadalajara and Monterrey.

He was ordained a priest on December 14, 2002, and incardinated in the Order of Friars Minor.

He obtained a Licentiate in Philosophy from the Franciscan University of Guanajuato and a Licentiate and Doctorate in Dogmatic Theology from the Antonianum University in Rome. He also obtained the Diploma for Formators at the Gregorian University in Rome.

He was Deputy Director of the Franciscan College in Etzatlán, Professor at the Franciscan Institute of Philosophy and Parochial Vicar of two Parishes. Up to now,he has been parish priest of the parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe , dean,and member of the presbyteral council representing consecrated life.

Curriculum vitae of HE Msgr.Juan Carlos Arcq Guzmán
HE Msgr.Juan Carlos Arcq Guzmán was born in Monterrey on October 17, 1966.

He was ordained a priest on August 15, 1997,by incardinating himself in the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Monterrey.

He has held the positions of Chaplain of the Rectorate of St. Maximilian Kolbe and of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Angels; Missionary in the Diocese of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Director of the Pastoral Center for Missionary Formation and the Department of Mission, Ecclesial Assessor of the Raza Nueva en Cristo Movement, Parish Priest of the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Juárez, Prefect of the Institute of Theology of the Archdiocesan Seminary and Member of the College of Consultors. Since 2015 he has been Rector of the Archdiocesan Seminary of Monterrey.

Curriculum vitae of HE Mons. José Manuel Garza Madero
SE Mons. José Manuel Garza Madero was born on January 15, 1952 in Monterrey.

He was ordained a priest on September 8, 1979.

He has held the following positions: Parish Vicar of various Parishes, Assistant of the Renewal Movement in the Holy Spirit, Parish Priest, Dean,and Episcopal Vicar. Until now he has been Rector of the Metropolitan Cathedral, Member of the College of Consultors and of the Presbyteral Council and Episcopal Vicar for the celebration of the sacraments in special situations.
