«He was a true servant of God,» said Brother Charles Dominic Kagoye, spokesman for the Brothers of St. Charles Lwanga, in remembering, Fr. Norbert Emmanuel Mugarura, who was killed on July 3, 2019. The priest was killed by a university student, Robert Asiimwe, according to Fides News Agency.
Fr. Norbert Emmanuel Mugarura was the Superior General of the Brothers of St. Charles Lwanga, a religious order born in Uganda in 1927, for only 158 days. He had been elected on January 27 this year. Fr. Mugarura was born on December 28, 1972, in the village of Buyanja, Nyakibaare parish in the diocese of Kabale. In 1992 he became a postulant of the Brothers of St Charles Lwanga and professed his vows on January 6, 1995.
