In addition to those two Africa nations emerging from war, the Reunion of Charity Works of the Oriental Churches will focus on the problems of the Catholic communities in Ukraine and the Middle East.

The agency, which is under the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, is meeting today through Thursday.

Attendees include Archbishop Pietro Sambi, apostolic nuncio in Israel, and Franciscan Father Giovanni Battistelli, custodian of the Holy Land. Both will speak about Christian communities in the region.
