His Holiness Pope Francis will celebrate Mass on Saturday, May 24, to be attended by huge crowds of people as part of his historic visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. On this occasion, Fr. Rif’at Bader, the spokesperson of the Catholic Church for the visit, issued a statement highlighting instructions relevant to the participation in the events relevant to the Mass to be celebrated at the Amman International Stadium and the Baptism Site.

All those interested in taking part in these events have to get admission tickets which are available at the dioceses and churches in the Kingdom. There are two categories of tickets:

A.   The green ticket entitles those who hold it to be seated at the stadium grounds and around the podium.

B.   The yellow ticket entitles those who hold it to be seated at the steps of the amphitheatre.

-All attendants have to be confined to the entrances and exits  as defined on every ticket.

-Attendants can only use buses assigned by their respective dioceses and churches.

-Use of private vehicles is banned.

-Admission to the Sports City is only limited to the period between 10:00am and 2:00pm.

-All bus drivers and attendants have to strictly abide by the regulations issued by police officers in the area including parking lots at the Sports City and the baptism Site.

Following the conclusion of the Mass and the departure of the Pope, exiting from the Sports City  should be in groups in coordination with the organizing committee and the security authorities stationed at the sites.

At the conclusion of the Mass, the celebration scheduled at the Baptism Site will only be limited to the participants numbering 600 people including the suck as well as old people, those with disabilities, and refugees. They should be available at the Baptism Site during the period 4:00pm-6:00pm. No admission will be allowed after 6:00pm as the celebration will start at 7:00pm with the Pope standing at the bank of the River Jordan and praying silently. He will then proceed to the Latin Church and meet with the suffering people.

The spokesperson of the Catholic Church for the visit stresses that the tickets will be given for free. He also lauds the assiduous efforts exerted by all the preparatory committees, the firm cooperation between the official committees and the Church, as well as the volunteering groups and the scouts who exert their utmost in the service of the participants including the sick and the old.

May God protect Jordan’s leadership, people and guests.
