2 Top AIDS Researchers Have Papal Audience

VATICAN CITY, JUNE 10, 2002 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II received in audience two professors, Luc Montagnier and Robert Gallo, considered the discoverers of the AIDS virus.

Dr. Gallo, who heads the Institute of Human Virology in Baltimore, Maryland, and Dr. Montagnier, president of the World Foundation for AIDS Research and Prevention, recently announced their partnership in a global research endeavor designed to speed the discovery of AIDS vaccines.
