In a letter to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, the archbishop expressed his grief at the recent attacks on Christians by fanatics and fundamentalist terrorists.
«I write this not only to express my solidarity with the Christians there, but also to express my concern over the growing terrorizing means that some people use in order to register their protest,» hist letter said.
The archbishop extended his support to Musharraf’s «serious attempt at rooting out the problem of terrorism from your country.» He added: «I assure you of my prayers in this difficult task in which I believe God can be of great help to us.»
Archbishop Concessao said he was confident that the president would be able to give a sense of security to the Christian minority community in Pakistan.
