The 26-year-old man landed around 6:46 a.m. today and was immediately questioned by the police, together with six other young Austrians who were standing nearby.

Emilio Del Mese, prefect of the Rome police, said he was pleased with the peaceful way in which the police organized the detention, as they had been informed ahead of time that a «symbolic action» would take place near the Vatican.

The youths might face judicial proceedings for «unauthorized manifestation and violation of the airspace,» police sources said.
