The prayer day initiative began last year, and linked some 500 cities where the faithful committed to Masses and Eucharistic adoration to pray for peace.
The event is organized by Italian youth organizations Papaboys, Youth for Life and Chapels of Perpetual Adoration in Italy.

A papal message last year expressed Benedict XVI’s satisfaction with “the intentions that inspire this laudable initiative oriented to implore light for consciences and the conversion of hearts and for reconciliation and fraternal coexistence between the peoples of the Holy Land.”

Those who want to join the official list of individual or group participants are encouraged to send an email to ufficiostampa@papaboys.it.
