Pope Francis on July 6, 2019, approved the decree of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints recognizing the heroic virtues of Fr. Władysław Korniłowicz, co-founder of the Educational Centre in Laski and apostle of the Polish elites. This means that for his beatification only a miracle is needed.
“For the Centre in Laski Fr. Korniłowicz is a very important person, he is its co-founder together with Mother Czacka. He was here from the beginning. We have here a chapel which he provided and created, as well as a retreat house. Almost from the beginning, he was the spiritual father of the work and the pastor of the Franciscan sisters and the blind. Above all, however, he focused on looking for blind people who lost their faith,” said Fr. Michał Wudarczyk, rector of the Chapel of Our Lady of the Angels in Laski.
The Centre in Laski educates blind children from their first months of life until the Baccalaureate and Professional Exams in an atmosphere of self-respect and openness to others. In the future, this will enable the blind to live independently amongst their family, work environment, and in a society of sighted people.
